This year’s Graphic & Media Design Graduate Degree Show has had to take a very different form to previous exhibitions. Instead of hanging posters and installing screens in a physical space, this year’s graduates and staff have been reflecting on our current working and leisure practices, in order to produce a suitable online environment to house the students’ work: https://www.gmdlcc.com/

Graduating students, Emma Shore and Joanna Marczak designed the identity for the show and talked us through the concept:

Gateway/gmd reflects the new online environments that we now use to connect. During these unprecedented times, we have become reliant on hyperlinks to gain access to sources of communication. When face to face conversations are no longer possible, hyperlinks serve as a gateway to a virtual space where people can interact with one another in online meeting rooms. The concept combines the key features of hyperlinks, including their colour and function, and the language of the environments they take us to.”
