LCC alumnus speaks at ‘The Future of Feminism’.

GMD alumnus Loren Platt has just taken part in a forum for Protein entitled ‘The Future of Feminism’.

Launched in 2011 by Teo Connor and Loren Platt on the 100th Anniversary of International Women’s day, the W project celebrates women working across the creative industries through a lively mixture of events and activities. They aim to promote empowering role models. Coinciding with the Gender Report, the Forum explored how digital platforms, like Tumblr, Facebook and Twitter are helping a new generation of feminists to challenge prejudice. We are seeing that when it comes to addressing gender equality and sexism, fourth-wave feminists aren’t just along for the ride. A new generation is taking matters into its own hands, discussing politics and social issues, otherwise ignored by the mainstream media, building communities and using social-media tools to quickly and effectively address discrimination at large.
On the panel was:

Teo Connor and Loren Platt, The W Project

Bjork Grue Lidin, HYSTERIA

Phoebe Collings-James, Artist

Amrou Al-Kadhi, The Inkling Magazine
