This project explores the concept of expiration and “Memento Mori” (Latin for ‘remember that you [have to] die’) using 3D visuals and audio, encompassing the graphic mutation that death means in shape, texture and colour.
I took a deep dive into the process of mould growth and its unique characteristics, and then brought them to life digitally in a 3D realm.
Finally, all of this is brought together in a dark and minimalist still life aesthetic, which serves as a backdrop to enhance the explored metamorphosis. Accompanying this visual expression is a poem that I have written specifically about this transformation.

This short film shows the relationship between the conscious and the subconscious self of a person who is running away from his past. In this project, I explore how our conscious and subconscious can diverge and separate from each other. I delve into the consequences of their eventual encounter, examining the internal battle that unfolds within our thoughts and the potential for them to reshape our perception of reality. The protagonist featured in my video flees from her past, adopting a new identity, relocating to a different city, and embarking on a fresh career path. Within her subconscious lies a lingering sense of guilt tied to a past event, which her conscious mind avoids confronting. While the conscious mind engages with the external world, engaging in daily activities and interactions, the subconscious remains an observer. However, at moments, the subconscious emerges, intersecting with the conscious and exerting its influence, distorting the individual’s perception of reality.
