Hey there!👋
I’m Amaya, a Spanish designer with an interest in branding, typography & visual communication.
After my experience working as an intern in London and Amsterdam-based studios, I’ve grown as a designer, always aiming to work with a soul, emphasising genuine and authentic narratives, and looking at the bigger picture of design. I value collaborative projects, particularly those centred around community ✌🏽

Salinas De Añana
The Selinas De Añana have been producing extremely high quality salt from deep underwater aquifers since the first human settlers in the Basque Country. Despite being one of the oldest salt producers in the world, the valley was abandoned during the better part of the century. But recently, a small percentage of the potential space has started up again with traditional methods, rejecting larger, more aggressive companies, and preventing it from becoming an endangered space once again.
This branding reflects the history and unique experience of the valley, which is mystical in its seemingly permanently frosted landscape and shockingly blue shadows.

Cheerio!
Cheerio! is a collaborative project with GMD peer Filip Gonera, centred around the branding for an exhibition for GMD students by students.
The name plays on the cheerful way of saying hello and goodbye, populated with fun characters and space-themed copy.

Sobremesa – Dual Typeface
As a love letter to Spanish tiles, Sobremesa, this experimental dual typeface plays on the idea that these ‘azulejos’ are made up of both type and illustrations.
The typeface separates these two elements, condenses them and entwines them again, as two separate typefaces that work together.
Bound spec book.
