I’m a recent graduate from UAL: London College of Communication. Originally from California, I lived most of my life in Seoul, South Korea. Fluent in both Korean and English, I studied in Switzerland before moving to London for college. Inspired by my aunt, a graphic designer, I pursue minimalistic yet bold designs that prioritise functionality and create connections with the target market.

Ipse Vobis: Myself to you
For this project I want to capture the essence of different parts of my life through objects, illustrations and text that accompany the objects. My goal is to create a cohesive and visually appealing design that is both a reflection of my personal style and my personality. At first I thought it would be interesting to create a traditional scrapbook but I feel like it did not align with my personal style. Another idea was to create a digital photo album, which was much more appealing than the scrapbook. However, I wanted to add a twist to the project as taking photographs of the objects seemed like a straightforward approach. So instead I have decided to scan all of the objects that would be in the book.
The photo book in the end will have a thematic structure to it that presents scanned objects to represent different parts of my life. Each chapter will focus on a different part of my life and will focus on different themes such as “home” or “friends and family”.
To be able to create a cohesive look throughout the book, I have limited myself to a certain set of colours. This will allow the objects to stand out and be more easily recognised by the audience. The layout of the book will have a clean and minimal feel to it with a structured and ordered approach that reflects my personality.
Overall the project aims to capture my life through different objects. The visual style will reflect my personal taste, which will allow the thematic structure and clean layout to help create an engaging experience for the viewer.
