Hao Lu

Hi, I am Hao. My area of focus is Graphic and Media Design. I work with illustrations and poster design. I am interested in portrait photography. This past year I have been developing my skills in illustrations made in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, I also tried video making and editing.

'Fermentation' – Anti-Corruption Posters

This project started with the Interpolate brief, and after research, ended up with a set of anti-corruption posters. There are three posters in this series, namely ‘An All-Win-No-Lose Bet'，‘Deal Between Power And Sex’ and 'Friend Circle'. This series of posters is based on the real corruption of political officials in China in recent years. I used ironic illustrations to show the corrupt behaviour of contemporary officials. The creative inspiration of this series of poster designs comes from the decay of apples, therefore I named this series of posters 'Fermentation' – meaning bad things always happen slowly, like fermentation.

Language One & Language Two: Jinhua Dialect & Mandarin

My outcome of L1 & L2 is a video of lemon (fingered citron) coloured handmade paper-making workshop. It is dubbed in both the Jinhua dialect and Mandarin. Subtitles included handwritten Chinese typeface design and written myself, Chinese typeface and English typeface.
