Haram Kim

Hi My name is Haram Kim, I’m a 3D motion graphics designer and I create animated films using Blender.

I believe that twisting and mixing existing concepts, objects, etc. is the best way to create something new, and through this way of working, I seek to create visuals that are disparate yet familiar.

Alongside 3D graphics, I am also interested in designing with A.I. technology, and working with film using tools such as Stable Diffusion, Midjourney, and Runway.

Confession

This project began as a way to explore and reflect in order to establish my identity as a designer.

It is a narrative of a journey looking deeply within oneself and borrowing the power of faith to reconcile conflicts and find peace. Overall, I wanted to express the colours and textures of Japanese animations, which have been a strong influence on my childhood. The inner turmoil is expressed through the action of dual selves fighting for the light, which is a lighthouse in the chaos of the mind, like waves.

Most of the objects in the animation are designed with a mix of Christianity symbols and elements from my personal taste of various culture.

Avatar Creator

I wanted to make A.I. technology more accessible to the public through one of the most familiar A.I. technologies, the A.I. image generator, so I came up with a topic that could be of interest to everyone.

Avatar Creator is a system designed to fulfil people’s desire to express their alter egos amidst the growing interest in virtual worlds. It is inspired by the character creator sheet of the TRPG game DND, and provides data through a questionnaire that allows users to describe the appearance of their own alternate identity, such as race, size, etc. and converts the contents of the questionnaire into Midjourney prompts using ChatGPT to create a character image of the user. By applying your own photo to the generated character image, you can complete an avatar with your own DNA.
