Ji is an innovative and interdisciplinary designer currently based in China. She focuses on human-centred design and concentrates on giving meaningful existences to it. She believes that design is not just a visual aesthetic that exclusively benefits ordinary people but also a bridge to marginalised groups. Many of her projects target disabled groups, using design to enrich their lives and emphasise their presence. She will continue to maintain her love for design and is happy to try more challenges in the future.

Street Lighting Innovation
This project aimed to propose and redesign street lighting to improve the dark surroundings in a specific exercise park. The project explores human-centred design by raising the question of whether design should be primarily functional or aesthetically pleasing. The project focuses on weakening the presence of visually distinct street lighting in a natural environment as an entry point. Through a series of physical prototypes and 3d design practices, I conceived new proposals that harmoniously integrate lighting into the environment. The designed output is a collection of innovative street lights that combine plants and elements from targeted locals.

Specified Gallery Rebranding
This project targeted an art gallery in China and designed a series of new branding assets for them. The design is inspired and developed by the gallery's Chinese name 仓(Cang), its overall floorplan, and its visual identity as a cat. The branding partially incorporates elements of Chinese tangram puzzles and Chinese characters to showcase the historical significance, cultural value and innovative impression that the gallery wants to express.

Sound Visualisation For The Hearing Impaired
This project aims to respond to the desire of deaf grandparents to visualise the sounds that occur in their lives. The models incorporate my understanding of the sounds of hot oil, boiling water, clock ticking, knocking on doors, wind blowing and dripping water, and develop the visualised structure through research and practice in materials, colour and modelling. Through my design, I hope not only to resonate with the audience regarding the appearance of the design but also to draw society's attention to the elderly disabled community.
