Jingyuan Tan

Biography

I’m Jingyuan Tan, a China-born, London-based visual creator working across design, art, and fashion. My practice explores the intersections between personal and collective identity, cultural narratives, and visual communication, often shaped by lived experience and emotional landscapes in contemporary life.

My approach is open and interdisciplinary, spanning illustration, editorial design, branding, and photography. I also founded an independent fashion brand and creative design studio, with work showcased at events including the British Fashion Festival. The brand centres around the idea of authentic self-expression and body confidence, aiming to challenge rigid beauty standards and celebrate diverse ways of being. Each piece draws inspiration from nature, contemporary culture, fashion, and art, translating these into designs that are both visually compelling and emotionally resonant.

I'm especially interested in collaborations that explore visual storytelling, cultural identity, alternative aesthetics, and thoughtful brand expression. I welcome opportunities from those in art, design, fashion, publishing, and creative industries who value visual work with intention, emotion, and voice.

Let’s connect if you believe visuals can move beyond the surface—to express, empower, and start conversations.

DREAMSCAPES

A visual book inspired by 400 dreams I recorded over five years. Divided into Dream Fragments, Dream Exploration, and Connection Between Dreams & Reality, the book blends personal narratives with cultural and theoretical reflections through a surreal, colour-rich visual language.

INFERIORITY PHOBIA DIAGNOSIS DIARIES

A speculative design project that explores ‘Inferiority Phobia’—a fictional condition rooted in cultural repression and emotional suppression. By simulating a digital medical system through web-based interfaces and interactive visuals, it invites users to reflect on how fear and self-doubt are socially constructed, offering an immersive space for introspection.
