Biography

I am a designer, mostly passionate about photography, illustration and editorial design, and the combination of it all. As I enjoy working both digitally and in print, I tend to create both outcomes for most of my personal and academic projects. I prefer a journalistic and collaborative approach to my craft, mostly taking the role of the art director. I am passionate about creating content with a message, in any form. I would love to join the music or film industry in the future, as I love creating posters and album covers.

Cinematic

A passion project, “Cinematic” sees a collection of stories, thought, and experiences in multiple formats, and from different people on experiences that made them feel like they were the main character in a movie. As each person is different, no story is the same, yet all of them are equally real. As humans we tend to romanticise our lives, and this publication is a space for these romanticised realities to come alive.
By rewriting most of the stories as movie scripts and taking their reality away, I ended up recreating most of the stories in photographs, to bring back the visual existence of these experiences, the way a director would have treated a screenplay.

The New Masculinity

A collection of stories from men on what masculinity means to them in the form of a maximalist zine.
Comparing my understandings from multiple sources – from my 60-year-old father, to openly gay artists – I want to raise awareness about the issues many men face with the gender and societal norms that are accepted globally. Shining light on this “New Masculinity” that’s becoming increasingly popular with the younger generation does not have to be done in an intense, or dramatic tone. Real men’s opinions and experiences can be inspiring in a light and colourful manner that grabs the attention of the receiver and inspires them to look further into the real world and the art that is inspired by it

The New Masculinity (part 2)

As part of the previous project, I created animated videos to showcase the same topics in a different format. Created to work as AR posters, these videos are my experimentation with fun, colourful, maximalist illustration that comes alive on top of pre-existing art.
They work as AR posters with the help of certain apps, which was my first dip into the idea of creating interactive exhibitions. Something you can enjoy visually without technology, like a painting or a photograph, but elevate it, make it come alive, with augmented reality.
This is still a work in progress but I do want to take this idea further in the future.
