Hello, I'm Manita Urairatana, or you can call me Ploy. I'm a graphic designer who is drawn to editorial and typography. I appreciate the design and creative process of making and experimenting. Graphic design allows me to communicate my ideas, and it opens many doors for opportunities to do something new. As of now, I'm a designer but still a student of this world. I'm open-minded to learning new things and still exploring every day. My goal is to extend this knowledge of graphics and communication to Thailand, where I am from, to bring people together with my designs and introduce them to understanding art and design more. Design and art are not just for the elite but for everyone. Design is everywhere if you look close enough.

One door closes another opens
This zine documents how people in Thailand adapted to the Covid situation by turning their car trunk into a pop-up store. This editorial combines both photography and type. It's 36 pages in total. This zine captures people's routines and how they manage to store everything in the car trunk. The orientation of the print is horizontal to simulate the trunk action. The narrative for the story: I started with Enjoy Coffee, then Somtum Audi, similar to how people would start their day with coffee and food.
Exposure
The concept of this editorial is to communicate the space between invisible and visible. This project was process-driven. I chose the technique of developing prints in the darkroom from a negative film. There are many elements to bring negative photos to life. If the photo is developing for too long, it gets darker and more visible. I designed three sets of photos developed in different exposure times, from 2, 6, and 12 seconds. Each album has the same order of photos, and the audience can compare these three together to see the details that one might be missing from the others.
