Signal | :WeWereHere()
This project is a piece of speculative visual art based on research into the history of signals sent by humans into space, aiming to re-examine the question: “How can we prove our existence in the universe?” Using the golden ratio—a universal principle observed across natural phenomena—as its core compositional logic, and inspired by the Rosetta Stone, the project consists of a set of eight themed visual objects that span scales from the microscopic to the cosmic: human, insect, plant, bird flight, water and air flow, the solar system, nebulae, and higher-dimensional space.
Each theme is represented by one laser-engraved acrylic plate, approximately 15 × 12 × 26 cm in size, with the entire set forming a 30 × 48.5 cm rectangular layout when assembled. Made from 5mm-thick transparent acrylic, the plates feature etched diagrams, text, patterns, and cut-outs. Each plate has a uniquely shaped base, allowing them to be arranged either as a unified rectangle reflecting the golden ratio, or in freely dispersed formations. The project explores the universality and aesthetic potential of information transmission through proportion and structure.
LONESTAR PROJECT
The speculative experimental publication Lone Star Project is set against the backdrop of the universe, presenting the journey of a digital life form controlling a probe in search of the ninth planet of the Solar System through a first-person perspective. Along the way, the protagonist empathises with anthropomorphised celestial bodies, gradually reclaiming its sense of self. Ultimately, it passes through the singularity of a black hole into a four-dimensional space to rediscover its essence. This project combines imagery, typography, text, special materials, and AR design to provide readers with an immersive visual experience.
FANC
FANC (short for A-POP FAN ART CONVENTION) is a cultural exhibition brand dedicated to creators of fan art and enthusiasts of A-POP culture, which encompasses fandoms of Asian idols, singers, bands, and more. The brand’s primary goal is to foster connections and cultural exchange within this creative community.
The convention takes place in designated areas around large-scale concerts, with creator booths forming the core of the event. Through this platform, creators can showcase, exchange, and sell their works, while A-POP fans can discover and purchase their favourite fan art and merchandise.
FANC’s visual system is built on modern, minimalist geometric designs and vibrant, high-saturation colours (such as pink and blue), creating a youthful and dynamic aesthetic. This visual identity immerses audiences in the spirit of A-POP culture. The brand identity design incorporates overlapping, blending, and rotating geometric shapes to reflect its core concept: ‘Create, Connect, Communicate’.
