Biography

Hi I am Maria. I am a multi-disciplinary graphics and media designer whose ethos is design for change, with a background rooted in research and data. I primarily work with moving image, animation, service and campaign design with a continuous focus on the digital. I am interested in working in a studio that is current with predicting future trends in the industry whilst using past design staples to give inspiration to the future of design. The past year I have been developing my skills in social justice messaging through my campaign design work, as well as exploring generative design and its infinite possibilities.

Self-Initiated Project

This project was an exploration of the relationship between motion graphics and audio experiences. The aim of the project was to design a moving image piece that complements an audio experience whilst upholding the existing aesthetic of the DJs (Bicep), with a consideration for upcoming trends in the industry.

This is the motion graphic piece that was designed to complement the song Apricots by Bicep. Most pieces included have had their motion coded to match the flow of the song.
A five second animation which plays on loop through Spotify when listening to the song. This was created to accompany the promotion of the moving image piece.
A promotional campaign through social media, specifically Instagram, that advertises the release of the single and the upcoming album.

This project also acknowledged the aspect of future trends in the industry, specifically with live performances. This depicts how the graphics could work in a live setting.

Re:act

This was a live project working with partners like TFL and Zurich to design a road safety campaign that would build a greater sense of shared responsibility between vulnerable road users and vehicle drivers for the ages of 18-25.

My ethos for the design of this campaign was to achieve shared responsibility through positively influencing attitudes and behaviour of both groups through empathy, community and unity. This was achieved through a digital campaign that influenced the physical.

These are the three posters that follow on from the social media campaign. These three themes of blind spots, safe distance and speed were the top reoccurring factors in my research that could lead to reduced collisions on the road.
