Mikolaj Wojtarowicz

Hello, I'm Mikolaj, I'm a Polish-born, London-based designer. My design practice revolves around brand experience and visual identity. I consider myself to be a creative, energetic, and innovative individual with over 6 years of experience in a variety of exciting university / professional projects.

I am interested in Social Identity Theory and moving from Poland to the UK inspired my exploration into the theme of identity within my designs. My goal is to one day collaborate with educational institutions to tackle the subject of Negative Social Identity in adolescent immigrants across the UK and help design workshops and events that would focus on helping those who would benefit the most.

RYS

'RYS' is a JavaScript algorithm that visualises the emotions in the human voice. 'RYS' recognises the volume, frequency, and sharpness of the audio input and generates visuals accordingly.

This project is an expansion and a continuation of my Year 3 exploration into the theme of identity. In this project, I wanted to explore the appliances of creative code for this purpose.

Re:act - Think 1.5m ahead

This live project was run in collaboration with Hard Edge agency, TFL, and Zurich to design a road safety campaign that would build a greater sense of shared responsibility between vulnerable road users and vehicle drivers. The goal of the campaign was to raise awareness of road safety issues and change behaviour among 18-25 year olds in the UK.

'Think 1.5m ahead' campaign aims at educating the road users on shared space. The 1.5m is a minimum safe distance for overtaking in any moving traffic. We used that to form a literal and metaphorical message to help our audience establish a better understanding of respectable safe distance on British roads.

Our characters are reflective of all road users. This inclusivity helps bridge the divide between them, giving them a platform to focus on the individual story of each character.

Archijecture

Archijecture is a visual identity proposal for an architectural conference that explores speculative future living spaces & global habitats. Archijecture is an insightful annual conference of architecture lovers and professionals bringing together important and influential individuals from different backgrounds to talk about our future. It offers opportunities to connect and keep up with the latest developments and tendencies in the world of architecture.
