Hello! I’m Pearl, a Hong Kong born graphic designer based in London. I love creating work that is fun, visually pleasing and interactive. I specialise in different types of work, both digital and physical. This includes illustration, UX / UI, graphic design, as well as lino printing. I draw a lot of inspiration from things that interest me like video games, horror movies, sci fi books, tattoos, and more. The inspiration that I draw from allows me to enjoy the projects that I work on. I am constantly trying to learn software and tools that I’m not familiar with. I am proficient with Photoshop, Indesign, Procreate, and Procreate Dreams. I am currently trying to learn how to use Figma proficiently.

Deep Dive – Cubes
The brief for this project was a deep dive on any subject that we wanted, and I chose cubes. It looks into cubes through different perspectives that include maths, cultural significance, pop culture, architecture, and cubes that are tied to my memory and emotions. I chose cubes because I find them fascinating, there are cubes everywhere you look, your room, the apps on your phone, chicken bouillon cubes, and much much more.
Through the use of illustration and writing by hand, I wanted the reader to relive my memories with me while reading the book and learning more about cubes than they have before.

UX/UI – Website
This was a UX/UI project based on a website that I wanted to improve. The website was a cat cafe that I’ve visited a few times that is based in the Netherlands. I found their website a terrible experience to use, so I chose to do my Positioning and Industry unit on this website. It was my second time using Figma and I wanted to learn how to use the design tool and create a Figma wireframe based project that focuses on the experience of using the website.
UX/UI – App based
For my final major project, I wanted to create a period tracking app that was both fun to use and functional. I hated how some of the period trackers out there had way too much going on – they included things like forums, messages, and other pages that were completely unnecessary in a period tracking app. I wanted to create something that was fun and tactile, something that did not feel like a chore to use.
