Hello :)
My name is Ran, like the past tense of run, and I am a multidisciplinary designer currently based in London. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, animation, motion design, illustration, editorial and art direction.
So far, most of my work plays on my comfort in illustrating. I enjoy using each unique brief or concept to explore different areas in the creative field whilst incorporating my drawings into each project. I am excited to continue learning, designing, and improving as a designer, whether in a studio or freelancing.

The One (A graphic novel adaptation)
The One is a graphic novel adaptation of the book by John Marrs. In response to the satellite brief, I organised, visually developed and edited the content from the book to make an illustrated version; I printed and bound the graphic novel at LCC.
Depending on the reader’s perspective, the story is set in a dystopian/utopian future and is based on a technology called Match Your DNA – an invention that finds people’s perfect genetic match, it is explained as an inescapable feeling when genetic matches meet. I adapted and designed the story, specifically Ellie’s, because it’s not simply about dating but the moral implications of how this technology was initially discovered, its negative and positive impact and the company’s lack of transparency and reliability for their product; which is what I wanted the graphic adaptation to communicate.
Two Sides (An interactive video)
Two Sides is an interactive video, an interactive film and an animation piece; users click on the screen to switch between film and animation. Two Sides incorporates animation, illustration, videography and coding. This project aimed to show a juxtaposition between film and animation. Through colour and rotoscoping over the film footage, I am adding or removing elements where necessary for the animated section to emphasise this. The interactive aspect of the video highlights the aim and becomes an engaging tool for viewers.
