I am mainly used to working digitally and wanted to design a project based around the exploration of analogue film/animation techniques that are either forgotten or not widely used. This resulted in a looped animation series centralised around the subject of a dance performance, I wanted the subject to be timeless and reflect the analogue process. The series is designed to be shown within an exhibition format, the animations will play continuously allowing freedom of public interaction.

The aim of this project was to create an experimental music video, constructed purely from archive footage. I have always had an interest in found footage and its reappropriation into different contexts. I wanted to explore the connection between sound and visual material, this led to a theme of trance which is often engineered through a state of auditory stimulation such as drumming, chanting, and repetitive soundscapes. There are three known stages within hypnotic trance. The first stage focusing on geometric shapes and patterns, the second showing cultural iconography and mind control, with the third stage displaying a heightened awareness of the human body.
