Stacey Woods

​I am a photographer, fine artist and designer from London. I have an interest in almost anything creative and love exploring new methods and techniques to create new pieces of work. I started out as a fine artist from a very young age and through experimenting and exploring new techniques I gained useful skills in everything from bookbinding to electronics. As an adult, I finally got the chance to explore photography, when I was given my first camera. Very quickly I began to explore different mediums and subject matters in photography and I even started to build a collection of vintage cameras, which I would fix up and experiment with.

I am also a musician, which has meant that I've spent a lot of time around musicians and music events. This has led me to hone my skills as a music photographer and have my photos published on a music website and used in promotional material.

Us – The Mind Map

A map of the brain which unfolds to reveal deeper structures and their functions. Made from A3 paper and hand drawn illustrations.

This project was designed to give more of an understanding of the human brain in a more engaging way. It was intended to be part of a series of items that give exercises and information to help people with their mental health by helping them to become more self aware. This piece is a visual map that complements the exercises and information by giving a visual representation that users can engage with to boost their motivation.

Self Directed Project – Lost treasure of Dumathoin

A dungeons and dragons adventure – 3D printed map pieces which are part of a d&d story campaign I’ve written. The story, or game, involves a series of quests that players must complete in order to find each map piece and eventually reach the hidden location of a lost dwarven treasure. After the adventure, players can reorganise the pieces to create their own map and new adventures.

The pieces created have markings either visible to the naked eye, or only visible with a UV light, which reveal clues that players must follow to complete the campaign.

P&I – The Crawdaddy Club

A book filled with my own photography of music and people who are a part of the Crawdaddy Club, which is a significant and historical venue of the West London Blues music scene. In addition to photos of musicians and patrons, it contains facts about the club as well as stories and quotes from musicians who have been a part of its history.
