The Power Of The Land - 'Haipai' Culture
In this era of accelerating urbanization, focusing on local is actually a process of self reflection and learning. Design for something unique to this place. Design for the place and for life. Shanghai possesses distinctive local characteristics and also potential of creating new meanings, as designers reflect more on life and value. So, I hope it is a cultural project that really touches people. To explore the cultural identity of 'Haipai' culture and promoted it by making a related visual identity that forms part of the brand experience for a cultural campaign.
Disappearing Occupations
As designers, we repeatedly remind ourselves that design is not for designer groups or academic awards, but for the public, their life, and this land. So, I wanted to focus on a group of people who have traditional crafts, but whose occupation may be disappearing. I think there is a need to document their crafts to give more people an idea of the traditional crafts and how these may disappear. I hope that the stories behind these will definitely encourage the audience to look deeper into this group.
