Love is individual. Everyone has a definition in their mind. Each age of a person has a different understanding, sometimes it is positive and makes people feel confident. I am really interested in using graphic visual language to explain it.

Cantonese is broadly used. At present, about 80 million people speak Cantonese worldwide. Nowadays, Mandarin is widely promoted in China. Guangdong is the central region of the Cantonese language, but it gradually declined in Guangdong.
I am from a Cantonese family, but my Cantonese language skills became worse and worse as the years passed. Sometimes when I come back home, my relatives will say, 'as a Cantonese, why are your Cantonese language skills so bad?' My friends come from a similar family; they don't know how to speak Cantonese. More and more people born in the 21st Century (GenZ) have poor Cantonese language skills.

One thing we can do as a graphic designer is working on language design. In this case, graphic visual language is used to resonate with the audience, thus enabling complicated messages, meaning, and information to be embedded and conveyed through the visual outcome.

In this project, I translate Cantonese and Mandarin via what I call 'Emotional Translation' instead of a literal translation. I would like to use visual language to help explain and enhance the meaning behind Chinese characters. How can graphic design help language design?
