Biography

Hello! My name is Zaina Ali and I’m a UX designer based in London. I hold a strong interest in user interface and experience design and actively trying to centre products or applications to meet the users’ needs to create an even better experience.

The approach to my projects matters a lot to me – I go through a chronological and systematic approach or iteratively design to utilise planning and delivery through an Agile approach.

Our designs are only limited by our imagination. I learnt this throughout my bachelor degree years, and I strongly believe that through communication, iteration, understanding, and empathy, we can all achieve and create designs that serve to be purposeful and sensational.

Paper Quilling Desktop Website

How can I make it easier for people to do advanced paper quilling with a website? This was the research question I followed throughout this project.

The objective was to create a fully functioning website that is built on editorial considerations, to maximise clarity and efficiency for people so they get the best experience in learning to paper quill.
The value lies in a website being fully functioning and legible for people to use. If this is valued highly, people will feel more drawn to paper quilling and would also want to carry it out for themselves.

A collection of some of the designs I've made! Paper quilling is as simple as it sounds; to create designs using the material of paper only. There is no wrong or right way of creating designs using paper. This is a hobby of mine that I find to be quite relaxing and therapeutic.
The navigation bar will be as simple as Home – Learn – Order. I believe simplicity is what will captivate the users and understand precisely what they want to create or what they want to learn. The interface shown here is where users would learn to paper quill.

Voice Recognition Software

How might we improve the future of daily driver devices being operated without peripherals?

This project focuses on understanding what voice recognition software is, finding out the experiences that people have had, and putting forth solutions to make voice recognition software a better experience for users.

This is an overall executive summary of the findings and my approach to understanding how voice recognition softwares can be improved.
The longest part of the visual summary was the discover and define phase. Here I am discovering who the target audience is and conducting interviews with 18 participants. Following on from the interview, I did a thematic analysis to help create the necessary solutions for V.R.S.
