This set of A3 screen printed graphic scores offer an evocative form of storytelling by presenting a visual extension to the experience of sound.
These graphic scores have been used to narrate and recount the sounds I hear everyday in my room exploring the layers and textures that these create over the day.
I built a contact microphone and recreated the sounds in my room exactly as I heard them, before creating an audio visualiser laser that produced characterised shapes and patterns from the sound vibrations. I then used the sound characteristics to design a set of notation symbols for my abstracted listening score.
The stave for this score was the layout/ floor plan of my room to give each sound its geographical context and was to be read from bottom to top (entrance of my room to the end).
